Carla Schuessler, Chief Operating Officer for The Complete Legal Defense Team, is a longtime resident of Myrtle Beach, SC. Originally from the Midwest, Schuessler relocated in 1997 after graduating from Illinois State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in political science.
In pursuit of warmer weather and fresh opportunities, Carla joined her sister who was a student at Coastal Carolina University. After taking a job just two days later, she began what would become a successful career of over 25 years managing operations and growth within businesses covering the property management, non-profit, and legal sectors.
In that same time, Carla has tirelessly served the Grand Strand community, notably as the Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Horry County, Chair of the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, and has deep roots in volunteerism with the March of Dimes March for Babies, the Grand Strand Housing and Community Development Corporation, the South Carolina Association of Habitat Affiliates, the City of Myrtle Beach Workforce Housing Task Force, and the Grand Strand Water and Sewer Citizens Advisory. Her efforts were recognized in 2017 when she was presented with the prestigious Ann DeBock Leadership Award, a testament to her exemplary leadership and “unwavering commitment to making the Grand Strand community a better place to live and work.”
Carla is a proud mother of two wonderful boys and recently rescued a playful goldendoodle, Harper. Her oldest son Jack will graduate in 2022 and plans to enlist in the United States Navy as a career rescue swimmer. Nathan, a junior at Carolina Forest High School, aspires to play collegiate level baseball or football after graduation. As a resident of the Arrowhead community Carla has been actively involved at nearby Wellspring Church for the last 7 years, serving in the early childhood program and as a youth group leader.
